Amazing care always received at St Mark. I had left a message with the IBD Nurse to email me my blood test results and Lisa promptly sent them to me, much appreciated!
The individuals involved in my were excellent, it seemed however that they are hampered by poor processes and organisation - e.g. no sharing of information with the patients or among themselves.
It was a phone pre-assessment. The lady was very friendly and joyful to speak with. Gave me all the information I needed. She had forgotten one item so she called back within 5mins to give me that detail. Well done.
I have nothing but praise for the treatment my son has received since he was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 2017. His specialist nurse Kay Crook has been a godsend and I feel so reassured that she is always there to answer emails, give advice and reassurance and respond to emails - absolutely amazing! The outpatients paediatric ward has run smoothly on each of our six month visits and I feel so please to be able to bring my son to receive such professional care.
Absolutely disgusting how the hospital gives you a appointment time but yet leaves you waiting for up to 4 hours. Every time I’ve come I’ve been left waiting longer periods of time to have any procedures done. My wife was left outside in a cold waiting room. The cafeteria was poorly stocked. The hospital is dirty and unclean.
On arrival at St Marks all the staff were friendly and helpful. I was put completely at ease. The Colonoscopy team in the treatment room led by Dr Faidon-Marios Laskaratos
where extremely attentive to my needs and explained the treatment through it's stages.
I was wheeled to recovery where Esther checked my wellbeing and provided very welcome coffee and biscuits and made sure I put my treatment notes safe.
Sincere thanks to all involved.
Endoscopy Pre-assessment was carried out by nurse called Aabeer.
She was kind, helpful and very thorough and went thorugh all questions in detail.
Actual endoscopy and colonoscopy was done on Sunday pm. on 30/01/22
I was pleasantly surprised to see nurses and doctors working hard and working passionately on Sunday.
My wife was treated very well and whole procedure took 1 hour.
Then after recovering she was discharged
Nurse saw her off
very good service by hospital staff, nurses, doctor Lax was very good.
Staff very kind & explained very well. I was made to feel relaxed & comfortable.
This was a telephone assessment. The Nurse (Lynell?), asked a series of questions concerning my health and any medication that I was taking. Explanation was provided without a need to ask and empathetic answers were provided to the questions that I raised.
Advice was requested on timing for consuming the "cleansing preparation" given that the appointment time was 08:15 and the instructions provided stated that the final portion should be consumed at 06:00, which gave me concerns over the possible impact whilst travelling to the Clinic. This was recognised as a possible problem and guidance on a suitable time - 12hrs earlier given.
easy to use pre assesment electronically Nurse was excellent
